Under-average, underperforming and over-priced. Keu – restaurant review, A perfect example of dining in the city of London.
Yet another overpriced joke of a meal. It is insane to me why there are always flocks of people waiting outside of this place, only to be served a single shred of pork in a stale bun. At least they have a nice clean sign to have a look at whilst you wait. I have a feeling it is because you can only see the prices once you are inside, therefore as you have waited for 6 hours you might as well spend the £30 on a bit of ham.
In all seriousness the rice bowl I had was … ok. the meat was really very nice, it was juicy, tender and full of flavour. That is where the good ends. The rice was dry and totally flavourless. The provided sauce was enough to cover about 3 grains. Even though they might have been some nice grains, I do expect a little more coverage when I am spending over £10 for some rice.
Conclusion – Keu
Keu is a classic example of a city of London eatery. It has the appearance of somewhere that looks amazing, a little bohemian with some exciting menu options. But when the bill comes you realise like it is just like all the rest. Expensive, pretentious and not worth anyone’s time or money. If you want this kind of Vietnamese cuisine, there are plenty of better options out there, just across the road there is a HOP, much better and much cheaper. Save your money and avoid this one.
