I have been to Bill’s before, I think we all have. Let’s be honest, it’s a little bit shit. I saw a fantastic offer for a three course meal in Greenwich so, why not check it out. Greenwich is a great location with some nice places, does Bill’s stack up?
The entrance to Bill’s, in all honesty right by the centre it looks really nice. I think it would get a lot more footfall if it didn’t have the Bill’s label plastered over the front. If you are walking past without any plans, it does really seem to be an appealing place to eat, a big plus.
Next the interior, again a pleasant sunrise. The photo really doesn’t do the interiors of the place justice. It really looked pretty nice, by no means is it first rate, but it does the job very well. The seating was really comfy and the general atmosphere was defiantly above par.
For starters, calamari. The presentation was pretty good, the salad was fresh and the chilies were nice and hot. A healthy serving is what you want, and this absolutely delivered. It wasn’t greasy and the calamari itself was really quite flavorful. As an introduction to a meal out it made a great first impression.
Part one of the main, chips. These were phenomenal, end of. I couldn’t believe how good these were. Solid potato content, the potatoes themselves were fluffy and warm. The exterior was crunchy, crisp and just .. perfect. The more I think about it the more it makes me realize that these might have been the best chips I have ever had.
Part 2, the burger. Again a really nice surprise, it wasn’t quite as good as the chips but it was still an amazing burger. Tender, flavorful accompanied by a sweet and perfectly toasted bun. The salad was fresh, which is rare when you have a burger when you go out to eat. I have to say this was a great eat, and when you include the price into the equation, it gets even better.
Bill’s Conclusion
Say whatever you want about Bill’s, but this really was a fantastic dining experience. The staff were phenomenal, the food was excellent the atmosphere was great, what more could you want. If you find yourself in Greenwich and want a nice meal for a good price, come here, a very strong recommend.
