Archipelagos

On the hottest day of the year (2023) I decided to have a trip down to Brighton. There are plenty of places to eat here so it was hard to pick. I often go for an asian style place so I thought it was time to switch it up.

Archipelagos entrance

This was the entrance, and in all honesty it was really nice. There were a couple of outdoor tables too, of course you could hardly fit a glass of water on it but still, a nice touch.

The starter, the Greek salad. O thought the quantity here was a bit mean. Think about the cost of those ingredients, it wouldn’t bankrupt them to give me more than 1/99999ths of an onion and a grape. Having said this it was really nice, I just wish it was more than a mouthful.

Archipelagos Platter

This was the platter. whilst it seems plentiful, really wasn’t. There was quite a large amount of fat rather than meat, and a hell of a lot of bone. The meat, at best, was dry. It was sort of like a sponge that you leave on the side and you put it in a sink that has just drained; a soggy bottom but mostly done dry. Really not great.

As you can see from the top, chips, and a hell of a lot of them. They were tasteless, just potato that was fried by a very limp wrist. It did feel like this meal was a slight scam. The offcuts and dry chips, that is a full price meal please sir.

Archipelagos – Conclusion

Mean portions and high prices. Dry meat and limp chips, this was a meal to be forgotten, instantly. There aren’t many good things I can say about this, I won’t ever come here again, even if it was 50% off.
