Every town, every city, will have a USA fried chicken. If not by name, then certainly by nature. The local chicken stop is a stable of UK culture, you can have your chicken cooked anywhere from ‘life-threatening pink” to “sparkling grease” brown. We have all visited one, so let’s see what this cheeky little fella has to offer.
Here she is. Unassuming, and an almost copy paste of every suburban chicken shop. Although what used to be a refuge of cheap food once you have spent all of your money in the pub, it is now just as expensive as going out for a top tier New-York eatery (maybe).
It is quite hard to take nice photos of chicken shop wings at 2am on a park bench but I tried my best. What is interesting is that the yellow hue of the light perfectly matched thee color of chicken. To the accomplished chef, they may think that only a very sick chicken would appear yellow. Whilst that may be the case, these still hit the spot (and the back of the toilet the next day).
Conclusion – USA Fried Chicken
Yellow chicken and dysentery all of the components of a suburban chicken shop. Thankfully I can report that USA Fried Chicken is an exception to the rule (mostly), filling that physical and emotional hole that cheap larger and creates.
