My favorite lunch spot in the whole of London, Porterford Butchers. When I have extreme health complications down the line, they will all be due to my weekly trips down to Butchers. Do not be mistaken, I loved every single meal I had here, no matter how hungover I felt on the day.
The entrance to the mecca of meat. There is often a very lengthy queue, no matter the weather, the day or the time. But I can assure you that it is more than worth it. With great views of St. Paul’s and pub opposite, so there is plenty to do whilst you wait.
This is what you are presented with when you enter. You can choose from the menu, which is pretty extensive and all great, or you can pick your meat, and whack it in some bread. You can’t go wrong here, everything is really high quality, and cooked to perfection.
Here she is, the Philly cheese steak, the go to for Butchers regulars. Everything about this is excellent, I cant say much more than that. The meat is tender and so full of flavor, the marinade is also absolutely sublime. To top it all off it’s one of the cheapest eats in the city and its one of the largest lunches you can get too.
Conclusion – Porterford Butchers
It’s the best lunch in the city, hands down. It really has it all, fantastic quality food, cheap, filling, large quantities and delicious. I can’t emphasize how fantastic this place is. In a sea of rip-offs of poor quality food and horrible service, Butchers is, unfortunately a dying breed in the city.
