This place is incredibly highly rated on google, its tough to get a reservation too. It’s so hard that I booked once, turned up and I was told they are fully booked. I said that I had called earlier, and was told that I had a table, the server looked at me, smiled and just said “no thank you”. I ended up being able to eat here, so was Uoichi worth it?

The inside of this place was minute. We were shoulder to shoulder with people, it was not good. We were so close it was like the people next to me were talking in my ear. Service was not good at all, the waitress was super pushy, I said no to a few things and she kept asking me to get it, a really terrible experience.
This was the sashimi selection I was pressured to buy. I said no about 3 times before i gave in, big mistake. the fish was really good, don’t get me wrong, but for the price I felt totally ripped off. I had had better sashimi for far less. Very disappointing.

The Japanese pickles. The same as before, they are good, they tasted great and had a really nice crunch. I would not be surprised if they are freshly made. Again, they were way too expensive for what they were, it really was a little insulting to see how little there was on the plate.
The chicken wings were the best part of this meal, and the cheapest bit. It was beautifully fried and the chicken itself was super tender and flavorful. The mayo was also a cut above the rest, with the salad which was super fresh and crunchy.

Conclusion – Uoichi
Terrible service and horrendous pricing, combined with being shoulder to shoulder to shoulder with strangers, Uoichi is one to not only be missed, but forgotten about. What could have been a nice meal, turned out to be a highway robbery, literally being pressured into buying the most expensive item on the menu. I wont ever be going back, and I urge you to avoid this place at all costs.
