Ye Ye

In the middle of the City of London there is an incredibly narrow street, located between Spitalfields market and the train station. It hosts a fantastic number of small, independent restaurants , most of which I have never stepped foot in. This week it was time to make a difference, let’s check out Ye Ye.

This place is always packed full of people, if you need a quick bite I wouldn’t recommend it as there is a high chance you will be waiting a while. However, if you have a bit of time to spare, it’s well worth the wait.

The is the main area. There’s a great atmosphere here, really nice and cozy, which is a great contrast with the hustle and bustle of the city just outside the front door. If you are lucky enough to be sat at the kitchen, the chefs are a joy to watch, they are incredibly fast, there’s never a dull moment in the Ye Ye kitchen. My one gripe is that the only seats are these stools you can see, they are so uncomfortable, by the end of the meal I was glad to leave, just because it was so un-comfortable. If I was here for more than lunch, I would be happy to get a large selection of food if the seating was more comfortable.

This was fantastic. Unfortunately I cant remember the name of the dish but it was absolutely fantastic. Every single bite was incredibly enjoyable, the meat was incredibly tender and was packed full of flavour. There are few dishes where when it’s over I could order it again and again and again, and not get bored. The greens were super flavourful, crunchy and fresh. Whoever cooked these greens should get an award for best greens in London.

Ye Ye – Conclusion

Ye Ye is one of these restaurants that deserves is current footfall, and more. Every part of the operation was excellent; the staff, the food, the interior, what more could you want. Although the prices were slightly high, you are in the city, and compared to other places, it really isn’t that bad.
